Her voice trembled.
“He always told me, ‘Grandma, you’re my friend.’ And for the first time in years, I felt that someone actually needed me.”
Daniel suddenly raised his head.
“But you really are my friend.”
Elizabeth wrapped her arms around him.
I could no longer hold back my tears.
At that moment, the manager approached my son.
“Daniel, I owe you an apology. I should have found out what really happened before accusing you.”
Daniel asked timidly:
“Are you going to fire me?”
“No, son.”
Robert’s eyes filled with tears.
“Today, I nearly lost one of my best employees. Not because he had done anything wrong, but because I was too quick to judge him.”
Then he turned toward everyone gathered in the store.
“Starting today, our store will have a special assistance program for elderly people who are struggling. And I want Daniel to help organize it.”
