After 35 Years of Marriage, My Husband Decided to Divorce Me Because of a Newly Discovered Illness, Convinced That I Had Cheated on Him. But Three Days Later, the Doctor Invited Us Both Into His Office, and When My Husband Heard His Explanation, He Burst Into Tears…

Robert didn’t answer.

I stood up and headed for the door.

“I’m not giving up on us,” I said as I left. “I’m only asking you to understand what you’ve done.”

That same evening, Robert called our children and told them the truth.

He admitted that the preliminary test result had never been confirmed and that he had accused me without any evidence.

He apologized to our daughter for dragging her into our conflict and making her doubt her own mother.

For the first time in several days, I heard genuine shame in his voice.

I spent six weeks at Susan’s house.

The first few days were especially difficult. I woke up during the night, remembered Robert’s words, and tried to understand how the man I had known for so many years could doubt me so easily.

Susan never pressured me to make any decisions.
