“Walk me through them.”
“The Naples property is scheduled to close tomorrow. Eight point eight million dollars.”
“Correct.”
“The funding currently sits inside a revocable family trust awaiting final authorization.”
Daniel looked toward me.
“That authorization requires your signature.”
“I haven’t signed.”
“No.”
Robert turned another page.
“There are also four personal guarantees attached to Ethan’s investment company.”
“Am I legally obligated to continue them?”
He scanned the documents.
“No.”
“What happens if they’re withdrawn?”
“The banks will request replacement collateral within thirty days. If none exists, the loans could become immediately callable.”
I leaned back quietly.
I had not realized Ethan had become that financially exposed. Not because I had never cared, but because I had never imagined I would need to know.
Daniel folded his hands.
“Victoria, I need to ask something directly.”
I nodded.
“Are you trying to punish your husband?”
The room became silent.
