Jason had apparently convinced Lily that he was building the company himself.
But he wasn’t.
The family trust had provided the original capital.
And Lily was the legal heir.
Jason had simply been managing the business.

“She had begun separating her assets from Jason’s control.”
Jason stepped forward.
“You expect me to believe she signed all that?”
“She did.”
“While she was pregnant?”
“Yes.”
“While she was supposedly afraid?”
“Yes.”
Jason laughed bitterly.
“This is absurd.”
Mr.
Hayes looked at him.
“Then perhaps you would like to see the video.”
The church went silent.
Jason stopped laughing.
“What video?”
Mr.
Hayes reached into his briefcase.
He pulled out a small tablet.
My heart began pounding.
He pressed play.
Lily appeared on the screen.
Alive.
Smiling.
Pregnant.
Her hair was tied loosely behind her shoulders.
For a moment, I couldn’t breathe.
