It was about a private organization inside procurement command called Meridian.
Meridian created shell companies, falsified transfer records, and sold classified systems to private buyers. General Vale controlled it.
His daughter Elena helped him until she discovered he intended to sacrifice her brother Thomas Jr. if the operation was exposed.
Elena became my source.
But she was never entirely loyal to me.
She wanted Meridian for herself.
I looked up.
“Carmen wanted control.”
Marcus nodded.
“Not justice.”
I continued reading.
Thomas Jr. tried to leave Meridian. Vale ordered him eliminated.
But Thomas Jr. survived.
He took the name Rafael Robles.
He and Elena disappeared together.
Years later, Elena married him publicly under the Robles identity to protect their family structure and financial network.
Sofia’s face twisted.
“She married her own brother?”
Marcus shook his head.
“Maybe not legally. If Rafael was an invented identity, the public marriage could have been staged.”
