full story : My daughter stumbled onto my doorstep at three in the morning, still wearing her torn wedding dress, after her husband’s mother beat her for refusing to hand over her condo.

Carmen answered.

“Thomas has kept him hidden for years.”

Alexander turned toward her.

“You knew?”

“Not until six months ago.”

“Where?”

Thomas snapped, “Enough.”

But Carmen looked directly at Alexander.

“North Ridge rehabilitation center.”

Marcus frowned.

“That facility closed years ago.”

“Publicly.”

Thomas’s face twisted with rage.

“You stupid—”

Carmen stepped forward.

“My father destroyed my life. You continued his work. I helped you because I thought control was survival.”

She looked at Sofia.

“I was wrong.”

Then she reached inside her coat.

Alexander moved instantly.

But Carmen pulled out only a small drive.

She tossed it toward Marcus.

He caught it.

“Every Meridian account I could access.”

Thomas’s face changed completely.

“You traitorous—”

“No.”

Carmen looked almost peaceful.

“Finished.”

Thomas rushed toward her.

Alexander intercepted him.

The two men collided hard against the SUV.

Marcus shouted for everyone to move.

Thomas’s men hesitated.

Then the vault manager did something none of us expected.
