Chapter 1: The night before my wedding, I overheard my bridesmaids through the hotel wall: h6368

The employee had already been interviewed.

He explained that Vanessa had approached him in the hallway, claiming she had left an important wedding item inside and had permission to retrieve it. He had opened the door, waited outside, and allowed her to enter.

She had been inside for less than five minutes.

The security supervisor played the footage.

Vanessa entered carrying a garment bag.

She left without it.

A minute later, the employee returned to the room and closed the door.

“What’s in the garment bag?” I asked.

“We don’t know,” the supervisor replied. “The camera doesn’t show the contents.”

I looked at Ethan.

“She may have brought a second dress to make it look as though mine had been ruined.”

“Or she was trying to create another photograph,” he said.

The manager checked the room again and returned with a small black folder.

“We found this behind the dresser. It appears to have been left intentionally.”
