The hand pressed flat against the side of the cart.
And shoved.
The cart tipped. The bottles fell. The crash came through the phone speaker. Loud. Shattering.
Henry jumped on his ladder.
Then the camera jerked. Grabbed. Turned.
The woman’s face filled the screen.
Smiling.
“Oh my God,” she said. “Are you kidding me? Are you KIDDING me?”
Jade paused it.
On the woman’s face.
Mid-smile.
Nobody in the security room said anything for a long time.
“She livestreamed it,” Terrence said slowly. “She livestreamed herself pushing the cart.”
“She did,” Jade said.
“To twelve hundred people.”
“Fourteen hundred now,” Jade said. “It’s growing.”
Terrence looked at the frozen image.
The woman’s smiling face. The diamond ring at the bottom of the frame. The hand still on the cart.
“She didn’t even notice,” he said. “She propped it up to catch the crash. She forgot it was catching her hand too.”
