Two Little Girls Stopped to Help a Stranger in the Park—and Changed the Way a Billionaire Saw the World

Those moments had seemed insignificant at the time.

Now I saw them differently.

I remained in the hospital for several days. My doctors monitored my recovery and made it clear that I needed to take their advice seriously. Marcus handled urgent company matters, and the board postponed meetings that could wait.

To my surprise, the business continued operating.

The realization unsettled me. I had spent so long treating myself as indispensable that I had forgotten how many capable people worked beside me.

On the third afternoon, Marcus arrived with an update.

“The park hosted a community event the morning you collapsed,” he explained. “A coordinator remembers two young sisters named Lily and Emma who attended with their grandmother. The family heard about the incident afterward.”

“Are they all right?”

“According to the coordinator, their grandmother collected them. They were safe. We haven’t asked for their private details.”

Relief washed over me.
