They Stole His College Fund to Marry on His Estate

They would stop seeing an estate.

They would see another resource that belonged to them.

The office door opened behind Daniel.

Two investigators from the trust company entered, accompanied by an Italian financial compliance officer who worked with the estate’s bank.

One of them carried a sealed envelope.

Mom stood abruptly.

“Are we under arrest?”

“No one said that,” Daniel replied.

“They are here to preserve evidence and take statements.”

Elise moved toward the door.

The compliance officer stepped aside without blocking her.

“You are free to leave.

However, the booking account and all connected transfers will remain frozen.”

She stopped.

Leaving would not save the wedding.

Marcus arrived ten minutes later.

He entered with his phone in his hand and confusion on his face.

Apparently, Elise had told him only that there was a payment problem at the villa.

She had never told him where the money came from.
