She Thought Her Husband Had Died In Prison. But He Had Been Living Next Door For 10 Years

Shanaya heard one of the officers whistle softly in shock.

But her attention was not focused on the scars.

Something about the features of this disfigured face seemed vaguely familiar.

The shape of the eyes.

The line of the chin.

“What’s your name?” Freeman asked quickly recovering from his initial shock.

“Malik Johnson”.

The detainee replied.

And a chill ran down Shanaya’s spine.

That voice.

She knew that voice despite the hoarseness and strange intonation.

Shanaya took a step forward staring intently at the stranger’s face.

Then her gaze fell on his neck where a small oddly shaped mole was visible under his collar.

Exactly like “Dex?” She whispered unable to believe her eyes.

“Dexter?” A dead silence hung in the room.

The detainee slowly raised his gaze looking directly at Shanaya for the first time.

His eyes reflected pain, fear, and something else.

Relief? “Hi Ni”.
