She Thought Her Husband Had Died In Prison. But He Had Been Living Next Door For 10 Years

Shanaya quickened her pace, looking back anxiously.

In the dim light of the street lamps, she saw a tall figure following her.

Something about this man made her uneasy.

Perhaps his unsteady gait or the way he was moving purposefully toward her.

“Hey, beautiful!” A hoarse male voice called out to her.

“Wait!” Shanaya didn’t stop, only quickened her pace.

Her heart was pounding wildly.

She heard quick footsteps behind her.

The stranger had clearly decided to catch up with her.

“I said stop!” Suddenly, he was right behind her and grabbed her shoulder, turning her sharply toward him.

In the light of the nearest street lamp, Shanaya saw the face of Jamal, the same man who had been harassing her near her home for several weeks.

He reeked of alcohol.

His eyes were cloudy and veins stood out on his neck.

“Let me go,” Shanaya said firmly, trying to break free.
