When she finally arrived in Africa, she found herself surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds. The landscape, the atmosphere, the local markets, and the everyday rhythms of life were different from what she had grown accustomed to.
At first, she approached the experience like any other traveler. She took photographs, explored the surroundings, and tried to capture every memorable moment. She wanted to preserve the experience so that, when she returned home, she could share it with friends and family.
But as the days passed, she began to realize that traveling was about more than collecting photographs.
Meeting people who opened her eyes
During her journey, she met local people who welcomed her into their surroundings. Some wore traditional clothing and colorful beadwork. Others went about their daily activities, working, talking, laughing, and spending time with their families.
She posed for photographs with some of the men she encountered, smiling as she tried to remember the moments that made the journey special.
