My Husband Took Off His Wedding Ring Beside the Mother of My Son’s Bully—Then Our Son’s Message Appeared on the Arena Screen

Then Tyler came along.

Tyler was in Lucas’s grade, and at first, I thought their disagreements were ordinary schoolyard friction. But gradually, the behavior became harder to dismiss.

Tyler began imitating Lucas’s stutter during class presentations. He hid Lucas’s backpack and once left it in a trash can behind the gym. Worse, he recorded videos whenever Lucas struggled to speak, sharing them with other students to get a laugh.

One evening, Lucas came home, handed me his phone, and sat silently at the kitchen table while I watched one of those recordings.

I felt angry, but I also felt heartbroken. My son had been trying to handle something that no child should have had to face alone.

We reported the incidents to the school.

At a meeting with the assistant principal, Tyler’s mother, Cindy, sat across from us in a bright red jacket. I explained what had happened and described the videos.
