My Daughter Refused To Go Home—Then I Saw The Contract On My Table

I opened the setting.

His access was still active.

I turned it off.

Then Christopher did something that surprised me.

He stood up and moved to the other side of the room.

“From this point forward,” he said, “don’t tell me anything you don’t want me involved in. This is your property and your decision. I’m here because Abigail is involved.”

That mattered.

Gregory had spent months telling me Christopher wanted control.

Yet the first thing Christopher did when he had the chance to take control was give it back to me.

I looked toward Abigail.

She was watching both of us.

That made my next decision simple.

“I’m not going back there tonight.”

Mom nodded once.

Christopher said, “Good.”

The apartment could wait.

My documents could wait.

Even the deed could wait.

Abigail could not.

The next morning, I began making calls.

I did not tell strangers a dramatic version of what had happened. I stayed with the facts.
