In May 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects the nerves and can cause muscle weakness and paralysis.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition occurs when the immune system attacks the body’s nerves, potentially causing numbness, weakness, and paralysis.
Sahara said her health problems began after she was struck by a drunk driver traveling at approximately 80 miles per hour on April 8, 2024. “It basically sent my body into shock which [sic] sent my body into this crazy sickness,” she explained about the accident.
“I got really really sick for like a week and a half to two weeks. During that time I barely ate any food because I couldn’t keep it down and my body got really weak [sic],” she continued. Afterward, she began noticing tingling and numbness in her feet, which gradually spread into her legs.
Her condition worsened until she required emergency medical attention. “So basically, right now I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all,” Sahara told her TikTok followers.
