HOA Sold 1,800 Tickets to a Corn Maze on My Farm—So I Harvested Every Stalk Before Their Grand Opening

“This agreement is valid.”

Rachel turned toward her.

“Mrs. Kessler, were you HOA president eight years ago?”

“No.”

“Board member?”

“No.”

“Resident?”

“No.”

Then perhaps you should avoid declaring a disputed document authentic.”

Trish’s cheeks reddened.

“We have relied on it in good faith.”

Rachel looked toward the event tents.

“How much did you spend?”

“That’s confidential.”

“How many tickets?”

“That’s irrelevant.”

“I heard eighteen hundred.”

Trish shot me a look.

Rachel continued.

“How many sponsors?”

No answer.

“How many vendor contracts?”

No answer.

“How much event insurance?”

Bradley interrupted.

“Rachel, enough.”

She looked at him.

That tiny smile returned.

“I’m just curious how thoroughly your clients commercialized land they don’t own.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I know Jack owns the fee simple title.”

“The agreement grants seasonal recreational access.”

“Assuming it’s authentic.”

“It bears his signature.”

“Jack was deployed overseas.”

Bradley turned toward me.
