Chapter 1: The night before my wedding, I overheard my bridesmaids through the hotel wall: h6368

Kendra gave a statement describing the conversations she had overheard and the instructions Vanessa had given the bridesmaids.

The bridesmaids who had participated were asked to explain their actions. Some apologized. Others continued to insist they had believed it was a joke.

I accepted the apologies that were offered sincerely, but I did not restore anyone’s access to my private life simply because they regretted being caught.

Vanessa sent me one final message a week later.

I hope you’re happy. You destroyed years of friendship over a man.

I read it twice.

Then I replied.

I didn’t destroy our friendship. You tried to destroy my wedding because I wouldn’t give you the relationship you wanted. Those were your choices, not mine.

I blocked her number.

I never heard from her again.

Emily faced the consequences of her misuse of company files, and the matter was handled through the appropriate professional and legal channels. I did not need to know every detail of what happened to them afterward.
