Chapter 1: My Father-in-Law Laughed When I Walked Into Court Alone, Believing I Was Broke and Powerless. He Had No Idea I Was a Military Prosecutor Who Knew Every Crime His Family Ever Hid. X008

“This document appears to be an unredacted commercial lease and dividend assignment for Silver Pelican International, registered in the Cayman Islands.”

“It lists your client, Preston Hale, as the sole beneficial shareholder of an account holding nine million six hundred thousand dollars in cash reserves.”

“And it is dated May thirteenth of last year—precisely twenty-four hours before Mrs. Hale was asked to sign the marital property waiver.”

Voss looked down at the paper in his trembling hands, his mouth opening and closing like a landed fish suffocating on a dry dock.

“Your Honor… my client… my client maintains that this corporate entity is a separate commercial investment fund created exclusively with ancestral family capital,” Voss stammered, frantically turning to Preston for an explanation.

Preston was unable to speak; he just stared at the page, his fingers digging into his thighs, his knuckles white with terror.

“Ancestral capital, Mr. Voss?” I interrupted, my voice ringing out with absolute prosecutorial clarity.
