After getting out of prison, I had nowhere to go, so an elderly woman hired me. She asked, “Why were you in prison?” And then…

Now I saw something more troubling.

Trevor and Monica had exploited apparently authentic paperwork, investigative shortcomings, and my inability to reconstruct the transactions.

They hadn’t needed to manipulate every person involved.

They’d only needed their explanation to look more convincing than mine.

One afternoon, Russell called with an update.

Evidence from Gordon, the original case, and subsequent investigative work had established a financial connection between Halston Ridge Supply and a business controlled by Trevor.

There were no corresponding deliveries of medical equipment.

Instead, the payments had been distributed across several accounts.

Some transfers continued even after my arrest.

“Your signature doesn’t explain what they did afterward,” Russell told me.

“But it does show who kept benefiting.”

“Exactly.”

That evening, I cried for the first time since leaving prison.

Nothing had been resolved yet.

But after almost four years of repeating an account nobody believed, I finally had independent documentation supporting its central facts.
