It may be the scar left behind by a childhood vaccination.

For people who received BCG vaccination during infancy or childhood, the scar can remain visible for decades.
But there is an
important point to understand:
Not everyone with a round upper-arm scar has a BCG scar, and not everyone who received BCG develops a noticeable scar.
What Is the BCG Vaccine?
BCG is a vaccine primarily used to provide protection against tuberculosis, an infectious disease caused by bacteria in the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex.
TB most commonly affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body.
BCG vaccination is particularly important for protecting children against severe forms of tuberculosis, including TB meningitis and disseminated TB.
The vaccine is made using a weakened strain of Mycobacterium bovis. It is not the same as giving someone tuberculosis.
After vaccination, the immune system is exposed to the weakened bacteria and develops an immune response.
Why Does BCG Sometimes Leave a Scar?
BCG is usually administered intradermally, meaning the vaccine is injected into a very shallow layer of the skin.
The injection
can produce a characteristic local reaction.
Initially, there may be a small raised area.
Over the following weeks, the site may develop a small blister, pustule, or ulcer-like reaction before gradually healing.
Eventually, some people are left with a small, round, permanent scar.
The appearance can vary considerably.
