At Kew-Forest School, he reportedly got into trouble often enough that classmates developed their own nickname for detention because of how frequently he was there.

Then, when Donald was 13, his father made a major decision.

He sent him away to the New York Military Academy, a strict boarding school in upstate New York.

It was a dramatic change for a boy accustomed to life with his family in Queens.
