Daniel stood up to the bottom of his bones.
For a few.s. seconds he didn’t answer.
Then he put his hands over his face.
Please, leave things like that until morning.
– No. You brought a stranger into our home and now you’re asking me to pretend I don’t notice anything?
He is not an unknown.
His words made me crumble.
Then who is it?
Daniel lowered his eyes.
Someone I thought I would never see again.
I felt a cold shiver.
– Michael?
My husband slowly went out of the head.
I knew him when I was a kid.
– From where?
Daniel had just opened his mouth when the floor in the hallway squeaked.
We both kept quiet.
A few seconds later, the silence lay again.
“We’ll talk in the morning,” Daniel whispered.
I’ve never slept at all.
By six-and-a-half, I got up to drink water.
When I got close to the kitchen, I heard their voices.
I stopped.
Michael was talking first.
You shouldn’t have brought me here.
Where did you want me to take you? Answered Daniel. After twenty-five years you appear in front of me and you tell me that everything I was told was a lie.
I held my breath.
