Designer sparks controversy by sewing real taxidermied rats onto women’s underwear: her collection went viral because of the criticism. 🐀👙 Would you wear it?

A real, taxidermied rat with a bow, sewn onto the front of a lace intimate garment. That’s LingeRAT, the collection that turned an Australian boutique into a topic of conversation around half the planet.

Behind it is Rat Oddity Gizzard, a curiosity shop that has been working with taxidermied rats for years. The designer sewed the first one onto lingerie, uploaded the photo to Instagram, and the internet did the rest. Each piece costs 190 Australian dollars, about 137 US dollars.

But there’s one detail that changes everything: according to her, they’re not meant for everyday wear. They’re presented as a collector’s item or a gag gift, and can’t be washed because that would ruin the skin. The recommendation is to hang them on a hanger as if they were art. If anyone dares to wear them, she suggests using a liner inside and cleaning them with a damp cloth.
